In “Cast Away,” Tom Hanks stars as a FedEx problem-solver marooned on a tropical island after a plane mishap. It’s all about his hilarious antics to stay alive and get back to civilization! Filming kicked off in ’99, paused, and then wrapped up in 2000.

This epic adventure hit theaters on December 22, 2000, courtesy of 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks Pictures. It rocked the box office, raking in a whopping $429 million worldwide, securing its spot as one of the top-grossing films of 2000.
